Thinking Outside The Box

Thinking Outside The Box – A primer

It has been a long time in getting here. It seems, I’m finally thinking outside the box. It didn’t take anything fancy; it happened on its own out of sheer bloody minded boredom.

There has been a number of years that passed in the process, and maybe it wouldn’t have taken so darn long if I had used other methods. It does however work for me; so there you go.

What is thinking outside the box? Maybe the best way to put it, is understanding that is beyond human grasp. The philosopher Søren Kierkegaard, had some things to say about thinking the unthinkable. And really, he inspired me to do better.

My thoughts are, that to find ones destiny; it is essential to understand something deeper than one’s navel. Sometimes people live their whole lives and never even make a scratch on the surface of their existence. Pity!

If you want to find your destiny, you have to work for it. You have to put in the blood, sweat, and tears that comes with the project. Lord knows, I’ve spent some long nights burning lean tissue to reach some of my epiphanies.

Coffee helps, if you’re going to be up late into the night with the thoughts of how to think the unthinkable. There really is no formula for thinking outside the box; only following your own train of thoughts for so darn long that you have mastered the ability to reason, think, and understand.

The son of man, what business have we with humans? Seems the world has been built to suppress natural thinking, and in the age of ignorance; many are starving to death intellectually. Seems there is no shortage of idiots these days thinking inside the box.

Really though, the box is built to keep the idiots in line. Since they can not think outside the box, then they can not grow, learn, or really think.

Some box. It’s built well. Because it took me forty-six years of living to be able to think outside the damn box. It required more pain than most are willing to endure. It may be true that with thought; comes a certain amount of pain, discomfort, and suffering.

It might have however been worthwhile. We will see. I’ve done the heavy lifting for most of the men in this world. If you want to benefit from it; then read my blog. Really any man can learn to think outside the box, and if you read my work; it will aid you a great deal in learning to think outside the damn box.

You won’t find it in booze, or drugs. Those things may even be a wrong turn in the mind of a true genius. You do however have to feed your head, and in these tough times, what you eat matters.

If you want to learn how to think outside the box, you have to be able to lift the whole darn box with your mind. This is no easy feat to accomplish. You have to think about everything the box contains, then reason on what isn’t in the box. That is a very simple way to put it. But to do so, requires that one be able to think something that is truly unthinkable by mortal humans. Thus, a great deal of pain to think the answer.

With no help, no guide, and no clear path for how to think such things, it’s almost impossible to accomplish. It however can be done.

Conclusion

If you want to master the art of thinking outside the box, you have to be willing to travel a path that few will ever adventure towards. It takes a lot of patience, pain, and sheer bloody minded thought to accomplish. You won’t reach a destination in a day, a week, or a year. It is like climbing Mount Everest; alone, in the dark, barefoot, and with an elephant on your back.

There is no such thing as luck. Only working towards a goal. Want to think outside the box? Better pack an elephant in your kit. They say the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time. Take the same approach to thinking outside the box; one bite at a time.

Balance This

Validation Systems Essay

The world has some problems. Many of them can be solved. On matters of being valid, there is a complete lack of uniformity. This problem has created the mess this country and world now faces.

There are a lot of reasons people can feel valid. There is however something very toxic about people who are only self validated by themselves. Chiefly that they are without a doubt the biggest A-Holes on the planet. Think about it, someone that doesn’t care what anyone else thinks of them, and they think they are great; instant recipe for buttholes.

There needs to be a basic system of validation for people that are alive. This system of validation has to be open to anyone regardless of race, religion, disability, gender, or status.

Basically to be valid you have to meet a general competency test, and then expand on that competency every two years with at least two subjects.

The problem with today’s world is that you can no longer depend upon your family to make you feel valid, and you won’t get it from social media, or anyone else in today’s society.

A lot of times, people set up situations to invalidate someone for their own selfish purposes. And in today’s society once someone has made you invalid, you can never rise back up. The system will beat you to death.

There needs to be some level of fairness and dignity to be maintained in situations like these. Basic human rights are being violated by people who claim to be valid on the basis of being holy.

There needs to be a system that allows people to feel valid in the modern society without having to depend upon their family, or social media to feel like they are more alive than a warm sack of shit.

The wrongs that have been done in this world, there is no protection in place for people who have been condemned to death by the guise of a loving family member. There is no way to show proof otherwise either. There is no system with proper checks and balances in place to ensure that these things no longer happen. There is abuse of power, by people that are supposed to be good people. I see no resolution in the matter, and the injustice that has been done is unlawful and immoral.

There needs to be a system in place that people can seek validation on the basis of their competency, their skill, and their talents. Without such, this world will continue to be a cruel ruthless place to exist.

There is no system to protect people from the abuse of power in situations where power imbalances exist. This is especially important in the family and household.

Without some way to be valid in todays world, most people are going to be left to die. There has to be some system that protects people and something they can point to and say that they are not worthless trash in the world.

Something has to be done to prevent the abuse of power, where power imbalances are currently being abused. People that are cruel will continue to get away with being cruel without protections put in place where people can prove what they are made out of.

When the validation needed is withheld regardless of skill, effort, or talent; there is always a problem. When a person has no way to get, have, or maintain feeling valid, regardless of what effort they put forth there are clear signs of abuse.

Without a system to allow people to have something to point to and say they are valid, else the whole world is just worthless slaves. You don’t want that, do you?

Life has to get a lot better, and many problems have to be solved. Education is an important factor in life, and when there are people that abuse their power, education is abolished.

I would like to see this get a lot better, however there is no clear way to make it better, and there is no one to turn to for help. There are no clear checks and balances in place to protect people from being abused like I have been.

There are problems when your family makes you feel invalid and no one else will even care or pay any attention to you regardless of what effort you put forth. It makes a person seek attention, and without giving it thought will end in disaster for most people.

In conclusion, there needs to be a system that people can feel like they are valid and that gives them the feeling of being valid at something. There also has to be systems that prevent power imbalances from being exploited for wrongful reasons.

There has to be the standard that upholds dignity and the rights of living beings in this galaxy. The abuse of power and the lack of upholding ones dignity have gross moral consequences for those responsible. Solve this problem. On the bounce!!

What Is A Real Man Today?

What Is A Real Man

After a long time of consideration I have compiled a list of things that I feel make a real man. There are songs about this, however no one really has answered the question in a satisfactory way that makes people say, “Yeah that is what a real man should be.”

So without further hubbub Here is my list of things that make a real man.

Courage

A real man is valiant. In today’s world, a real man has to have courage to do what is right; and sometimes even risk his own life to set right the wrongs in the world. He is not a coward, he does not shrink back when foes attack.

Intelligence

A real man is intelligent. This spans greater than just being a database of information. A real man is wise, with understanding that is deeper than just being a walking phone book. Real men are intelligent, they engage in intelligent conversation, and writing, and reading. They know what is important, and what is a waste of time to pursue.

Honesty

A real man is honest. There are few that have the courage in today’s world to be really honest. It is important that a real man be honest with others, and himself. There is sometimes need for being able to keep a secret, however in most situations a real man is very honest in his dealings.

Respect

A real man is respectful of others and himself. He holds himself in deep respect, and expects to be treated with respect by others. He is kind in his dealings, and you could say that he shouldn’t be a toxic eye sore to others.

Strength

A real man is strong in emotional and physical ways. Even mentally strong. A real man can endure pain, discomfort, and burdens without loosing his cool or coming into rage and hate. A real man is one that takes care of himself, and others in ways that keeps everyone functioning well.

Creativity

A real man is creative. He has his ways of expressing himself and being creative that are applied to everyday living, and artistic pursuits. Being creative is also a sign of intelligence.

Morality

A real man has moral standards that he upholds and lives by. These are his core principles that make his life worthy of living with himself. A real man knows that being toxic isn’t a moral option that he should pursue.

Sanity

A real man is sane. This doesn’t mean that he lives like a damn vegetable and has no life outside his easy chair. It means that he is has self mastery of his entire body, heart, and mind. He shouldn’t be overly emotional or easily con-able.

Godliness

A real man aspires to rise above the common herd and their base ways. While not being judgmental, he should have an aura of splendor about himself.

Cleanliness

A real man can get dirty. Doing man type things will often get you less than clean. However, in general a real man is a clean person in his living conditions, and his physical appearance.

Years

It may take years for a boy to develop into a real man. People should be willing to give them the time to develop their character into becoming what they should be.

In conclusion, a real man should be courageous. He shouldn’t be addicted to drugs or alcohol. He should be wise, kind, and avoid people that are toxic. Let me know what you think of this list of what a real man should be, if I’m missing anything in this list.

Advice For People That Want To Be Smarter

You want to be wise? Be careful how you spend your time. Make the best use of your time that you have. Be careful what you spend time talking about, or watching. This is some of the simplest advice for people that want to be smarter.

That said, there are a number of things one can do to make their life better. The smartest are not always the happiest. Read that again. It is best if you can be content with what you have. If you have the ability to make good use of your time, and can do what you love; then you have a good combination.

If you just want to be smarter, ask yourself why you want to be smarter? Wisdom is more than being a good living database. You have to know how to apply what you know in the best way possible.

There are many people that are good databases, they know tons of information. But ask if they know how to use that data, you might be surprised to learn; they are just as confused as you are.

That said, really you should do what you love. While there is very little love being shown to those who do. You have to pick out the process that you enjoy the most, then; do that!

A lot of people will give you the advice, to be popular, to be important, and to have a life; that you have to fit in. They won’t believe the people that think outside the box; because if they did, it would threaten their whole existence. That will never do. Really you have to package your ideas in ways people that still believe in the box will understand.

This means it has to be gentile on their minds. Something new is always regarded as being too bold, too forward, or unnecessary. It is only after its been around a while that they start to see the advantages. If you want to be smarter, seek first to understand yourself. Know what you want.

If you really want to be smarter, first you have to teach yourself how to really think. You have to move past the point of having thoughts and get to the point you actively control your thoughts and emotions. Having a high emotional IQ is just as important as being intellectually smart. Really you have to have some balance about these things.

Make good choices. Make good use of your time. Do what you can. Everything else is just a matter of continued effort at the same level with the same amount of enthusiasm and effort to sustain new levels.

Intelligence is more than being book smart. How you express yourself creatively matters too. There are problem solving skills, and skills of how to execute your plans once they have been formed.

Project Write A Book

Thoughts On Being An Author

There are many activities in life that can bring a person happiness. Having a wonderful life is just the start, there are some things in life that everyone should try at least once.

For me, this includes having written a book, or two. Being an author has a special kind of rewards to it. To say that writing an entire book with your own two hands and publishing it is a feat would be an understatement.

Writing your first book will make you pull your hair out. Learning to think in words and writing well, while trying to keep the plot strait, and not loose sight of the goals, it is quite the task to perform.

It gets easier once you write on a regular basis. However the first book will always have a special place in your heart as something you can be proud of having done. It takes an incredible amount of focus and attention to detail to write an entire book.

It is something everyone should do. Really! I think most people should write at least one book in their lifetime. With the technology we have available today, it is not only possible; it is also very practical.

Learn To Write, Learn To Think

People that write, are also people that read. My thinking in this matter is that if people were to write more often, then maybe they would start reading a lot more too.

While there is no proof that writers read more, I think it is sensible to believe that people that write read more often. I know my ability to read and write have improved over the years.

However, I have not undertaken the massive effort to write a new book in some ten years. While I have dabbled in short stories off and on over the years, actually writing a full book; daunting and frightening.

This may be one reason I recommend that others take on this project of writing their first book, because people need the experience of writing that first book and being scared shitless and out of their minds with trying to edit it.

I want the best for you. I really do. Hence, my suggestion that you take the time, learn to write; then start writing your first book. If you start now; four or five years from now, you might make it happen.

Results Are Few, But Worth It!!

Don’t expect success. Don’t expect rave reviews. However, what you will learn about the process and the effort it takes to complete this project are invaluable. It’s the kind of feeling you couldn’t get from watching TV.

Take the time, start today. Write the book that you want to read. Someone has to, because if they don’t; this world will be book poor in no time. There is a quote: Books will get you through times with no money; but money won’t get you through times without books.

That is likely very true. I wouldn’t know; the only thing I have are my books. It might be nice to have a taste of what the other side feels like, but I think I will keep most of my books.

Like I said, there is no experience like writing and publishing your first book. It’s a gigantic task. It takes months or years of effort, and will make you question what you know. You have to write something that you really believe in. See where it takes you; you might like it.

Please write something that puts beauty back into life. We have enough problems with life as it is. However, the issues of how to resolve conflict are subjects of entire library’s. Yet, remember to write something with a sense of hope, and make it beautiful so that the reader wants to read it.

Have Some Love

This takes being really in love with the words you write. You have to have a respect for them. Words and ideas can change the world, given enough time and skill.

As far as writing a new book; I have my doubts about taking on this task in the near future. Maybe someday, when I have the idea that really sits with me like a ton of bricks. My interest is really in putting something beautiful back into life. I’m going to have to work on it for a while.

Thus, you should start today. Because it may take many years for your book to come to completion. It is an important project that everyone should undertake once in their lifetime. It is also something that everyone should have to endure too. It will change your opinion of the task of writing good books.

Maybe if enough people write their first book, they will start to appreciate what good writing is really about? Maybe. One can always have hope. Maybe your book will change the world; give it a shot.

Thoughts

Life is what God and men make it. Seems humans haven’t been doing a very good job keeping things in good shape, or running smoothly. My thoughts about this are that peoples attitudes and priorities are not in line with what matters the most.

Seems everyone these days is kind of bent in some way. Maybe this world is some kind of junk box? There is beauty here, if you look for it. However, you won’t find it if you’re looking in the wrong places.

We have to get back to what will really make us happy. I’ve been thinking about this. Sometimes what we think will make us happy, in the long run; really doesn’t satisfy. The world needs peace, humans have forgotten how to be kind. They have lost touch with their humility.

Something needs to change in this world. Most humans aren’t thinking, they don’t listen; and they don’t want to be wrong about anything. Humans need to get back to always being beginners. When everyone thinks they are experts, there is a lot of problems.

This is what we are seeing today. Everyone in their own eyes thinks they are experts, and none of them ever want to admit they are wrong. Because they don’t want to look bad; even for a second.

When you have the right frame of mind, everything else is easy. Too many people today have the wrong frame of mind about their lives. This makes things get out of perspective, and people loose touch with their priorities and then their attitude gets all bent.

Life has to get better. It really does. At this rate, the world will blink and be out of existence. There has to be some changes made in life. Start by being humble in your life. Then work on being kind to everyone. Work on your thoughts until you can live with yourself, and others are willing to live with you.

When everyone gets in the game, life gets better for everyone. That is what we want. Too many today are positive they are right about the wrong stuff. They need to work on their priorities and their attitudes until they are being humble and kind.

Here is some music to start your meditation with. Give it a listen!

Thoughts On Validation – What Makes You, You?

Thoughts On Validation

A few days ago, a subject came up about someone else and how they must feel about themselves. My Mumz said the persons self esteem must be rock bottom because the only validation she seeks is online. Below are a few of my thoughts on validation.

After giving it some thought, I have reason to believe there are a wide variety of ways people seek validation. Let’s examine a few of them starting with the biggest first.

Money In The Bank

Money – Lets face it, those with money feel validated and like they are special. They have either worked for their money or they have inherited it through their family. Therefore, they are the most privileged among the humans. Because, they have special validation, because they have the power and the money. Those with the most money need no validation from poor people because they are above them.

Having Employment

Having A Job – This one is nice. You get validation from making your living and from the work that you do. It is really one of the best ways to feel valid. If you love your job and are making money at what you do then you feel a sense of accomplishment and like you have validation from doing good work.

Having Love In Your Life

Having A Significant Other – Having someone in your life that is willing to commit their whole life to you. Let’s face it, having a warm loving relationship gives people a sense of validation. Having someone that is willing to marry you and have your children is a great way to feel valid. It will make you feel like a man, it will make you want to do better because you want to make their lives better.

Having Family That Loves You – Having relationships that are in good working order and having peace of mind that there is nothing you could ever do that would make them not love you, this has a sense of security to it. Its a form of validation. Everyone needs to have family that loves them.

Having A Few Good Friends

Having A Few Good Friends – This gives you a sense of belonging and having meaning in your life. If you lack all of the above, then having a few good friends will help make up for the hurt of being poor, alone, and jobless. If you have none of the above, you are a special kind of problem.

The Problem

In my life, they have withheld the affection of giving me the validation I needed. But the realization that I don’t need their approval is such a feeling. Human society is set up so everyone needs some kind of validation and sense of belonging to live a happy life. When they deliberately withhold those things to get you to conform to their evil ways, you have to make the choice to cut them loose.

I’ve been nineteen years without a job, friends, or significant other. Been isolated, poor, and abused for a very long time. My family doesn’t care about the work I perform, and it doesn’t earn any kind of living.

I’ve decided that the human race has lost my respect.

I certainly don’t need validation from the human race that I’m any good. They couldn’t live my life. That is for sure. No one would have lived through what I’ve been through. It has almost killed me a few times.

So on matters of validation, the human race has a lot of things that make them feel valid, having money, having jobs, having love in their life, and having a dog.

What They Lost

Therefore, what they have lost is their humility and what they were supposed to be, which is human kind. They have been cruel to me. Wish it would have been better. I sure could have used some help. No one was willing to extend the offer.

Humans are victims of the insane. They couldn’t think if they wanted to.

In conclusion, what I think of them is below average. Because of the way they have treated me. They got what they wanted, they hurt me a lot. Wish they could have been kind. The world is a sick place. Seek your own salvation; friend see to it.

Those are some of my rough thoughts on validation, there is more!

Creative Fuel – Guide To Success

How to have more creative fuel to burn

In order to be really creative, you have to have some fuel to burn. It is the process of using this creative fuel to create new work that produces a work of art. But if you are on empty how in the world do you fill back up?

You should prime yourself with this article about Calibrating For Success, then make use of this article.

The process is different for different people. However there are some things that will help inspire you if you use them correctly. Sometimes you have to fill the tank with good stuff. Other times you have to starve the beast and let hunger do the job.

Sometimes, you have to a little of both. So what works for me is that of careful meditation. By using a thoughtful approach I’m able to have creative fuel, and burn enough that work is completed.

Have More Than One Project In The Fire

Sometimes it helps to have multiple projects. This gives you a backup plan for when things don’t go as expected. By having more than one project to work on, you can stay busy and keep your flow going. Being able to do other projects also enables you to learn new skills. If you are always pushing new boundaries then you always be growing.

If you learn new skills you will find they come in handy in other areas of your work. It all adds up in the long run.

Do More Than Humanly Possible

You have to be doing a great deal of work. This requires doing more than humanly possible on a regular basis. You have to get to be so darn good that people take notice of you and your work.

If you plan carefully, it is possible. You have to be diligent and calm and relaxed. Then you have to work your butt off like never before. It is possible, you just have to be willing to do what is difficult.

Therefore, if you starve yourself from unnecessary activity, you have more time to do good stuff.

Be Careful What You Use For Creative Fuel

Too much TV will bum you out. Try listening to a lot of music. Change your music up enough that you are listening to old and new music from a wide variety of genres. Try listening to classical when you are sleeping at night. Its a great way to effect your dreams and your mood.

Therefore, these are some tips to get you started. Find out what works for you.

How to use technology to calibrate yourself

You can do this!!

We have a lot of tools at our disposal, the question is: Are we using them? Likely the answer is no. However we should! So ask yourself how to use your technology tools to calibrate yourself for success.

Your Phone

This is your greatest tool. Your phone is likely the most under used tool you have in your toolbox. Everyone has one, but no one is using them to make phone calls. Try to dial your contacts, and start the conversation.

Email – Use Wisely

Your email is a good tool to follow up those phone calls with. Send them the details, or more information. Be sure to ask for their email address when you are talking with them on the phone. Prepare them by telling them your email address so they expect that email coming from you.

Close the deal on the phone while talking with them. Then get their signature in writing.

The Calendar – Remember this!

The calendar is a tool that you can use to schedule appointments with. If you are planning in advance, you should have the important dates scheduled here.

There is no excuse for missing appointments! Because if you are using your tools, you won’t miss the date!

Text Messages – The instant mess!

Don’t use text messages to communicate important ideas and information. Its best to do this verbally over the phone. If you don’t want an instant mess, use sparingly. Therefore, use your tools for what they work for. Don’t expect people to know you from texting.

Having A Website

Chances are the only people that will visit your website are people you talk on the phone with, or have sent an email to. No one else is going to find your site online. So tell people about your website in person, on the phone, and via email.

Therefore, don’t expect miracles. Even with a good website, you likely won’t see results. You should plan on closing deals in person.

In Conclusion

Use all your tools correctly with a thorough understanding of them, and when and where to use each one. Therefore you can be successful, if you use them wisely. Be wise, use your mind!

Use your technology to calibrate yourself to success.

How I Journaled Six Million Words

How I Journaled Six Million Words In Ten Years

Sometimes writing is a necessity. Sometimes it is for fun. I had never really started with the idea of writing a lot. I feel the minimalist urge to write better quality and a lot less dribble. My journals were an answer to a problem. To have journaled six million words takes some effort!

Yet, here I am. Some twenty years into the game. I started off writing in my journals to better understand my life, to make sense of something I couldn’t understand. Because there aren’t enough good answers in today’s world.

I do however remember a turning point. It was back in the year of 2005 or thereabout, I remember being inspired by a photograph. Back then there was a challenge to write a thousand words about a photograph. I tried it out and found it difficult to do. A thousand words about a photograph is a lot.

Then between looking at the photograph I had taken, the idea came to me; what if I write a million words about this photograph? Is such a thing even possible?

The goal seemed absurdly high. I didn’t think it was possible, yet in some small way with the seed of the idea planted in my breast, I thought, “Maybe I can.”

What It Took:

I had to design my own journal software to do it. It took a few years to work out the program and get all the bugs out of it. It’s a few simple perl scripts that work from the command line. The text editor I use to write my journal entries in is the text editor VIM. Then perl does all the rest.

It’s been a long journey. There have been a lot of ups and downs in twenty years. Some good times, and a lot of rough days. I can say that it wouldn’t have been as good if I hadn’t been writing. It would have no doubt been much worse.

My journal software is fast, clean, and addictive. It is fun to write it the way I do. Like I said, I never started off with the idea of writing more than a million words. But the snowball effect and the years have added up. And now at over six million words, I think that I understand myself better.

Understanding

And that problem I couldn’t understand, I think that I untangled it sufficiently to at least know something about it. So in some ways I guess it’s a success. I’m closer to myself these days, I just wish that I had someone to spend time with.

My journal software keeps some statistics for me. This year, I have made 961 entries. for a total of 693,006 words this year alone. My typing speed averages 61.01 words per minute, and most entries are 721 words each. The average time it takes me to write an entry is 12 minutes.

After almost fifteen years of writing in my journal, I’ve written four books which aren’t counted in the word count. I’ve also written numerous blog posts, and essays in this time, both of which aren’t counted in the word count.

Drivel Count

Maybe I’ve written a lot of drivel. I learned how to write. It only took five million words to be a better writer. I guess that is good. I’ve come a long ways.

One side effect of this mess is that sometimes my fingers go numb. Job hazards I guess. That said, it is not for everyone; and it may not be for you. For those that dare, I suggest you write your million words in a year. It is possible.

Just remember to move on, don’t stay stuck writing the same stuff week after week. Be productive, be useful. And for heavens sake, be kind in your words. We need a lot more kindness.

Maybe it was shear bloody mindedness, maybe it was being stubborn. Somehow it seems like so long ago that I set the goal. Still I need to write that million words about the photograph. Maybe someday I will.

I wouldn’t expect anyone to read them, Don’t even ask.

Buy a book.

Therefore in conclusion, there is something you can learn from it, like be wise; don’t make the mistakes I did. If you set out to have journaled six million words, plan it out. It’s been years, somehow I feel they are best left to gather dust.

Because, it was written for myself to make sense of something impossible to understand. Do better than I did, maybe your words will change the world. Because, you never know unless you try. Give it a shot.

Some Advice: This was originally a PDF, now its a blog post! Written November 14, 2018.

There is a fine art in living. Living well is a mystery to most. Few have what it takes to find the secrets of life and still live a happy life. You will find that in use, the quality of life improves. It’s not enough to keep life hidden in a chest that you never take it out and only try it on during special events.

If you live that way, you will find the quality of your life deteriorate to the point that it’s not worthy of living. Like anything with life, you get better the more you use it. This is especially true of creative living.

Creative Living

If you are creative and living in a vacuum, then you will find that the creativity feels worthless and useless unless you have someone else to share the experience with. It’s not just about being told that your doing great work which at best isn’t very satisfying. It’s the shared experience that others have around your work that makes it worthy of your time.

So how do you balance your creative life with a healthy lifestyle? There is a right balance between time spent alone in doing and creating work and the time that is required to be a living breathing person that isn’t living like a zombie.

When it’s not enough that you just exist, life in a vacuum is a living hell. Only when you start living life based upon principals can you find real happiness. Life in a vacuum is worthless. You have to be able to make an impact and make a lasting impression.

Today’s World

Unfortunately today’s world isn’t made for people like me. They want mindless sheep that don’t think. To exist in today’s world you have to be able to live and learn. Learn early from my mistake. Don’t wait until you are forty to figure out what I’m talking about. If you are going to be successful, you will have to have people’s support from the start. Make your groups early. Find those that you can be of use for, and do what you can to help them; just make sure that the road is a two way street.

If you build a two way street then the traffic will flow down both sides in an orderly fashion. Then get enough people to actually use your street and then you have a working model. From there you can build almost anything that needs done and have some level of success. It’s best when there is good in all that you plan to build. It’s not about getting rich anymore, it’s about the value you have as a citizen in society. What value you can add to society as a whole, that makes everyone’s lives better. Do that!

What More Can You Want?

Creativity and intelligence alone are not enough to sustain a living life. There has to be interaction, companions, and people that are your equals in life to sustain reasonable success. If you measure your success on the benefits that society as a whole can benefit from then you are measuring the right stuff.

Intelligence alone isn’t enough. You can not sit in a vacuum and be happy long term. In some short term solutions some isolation can be good, it gives you time to think, to learn, to grow, to figure it out. However once you reach that point and you are no longer struggling to understand the meaning of life, you have to grow your social circles.

If you reach that point and can not function as a being, then you have a problem. It’s important to care for your mental health while being as productive as F**k, this requires careful balance in life and not being addicted to things that prevent you from making good use of your time. You will find it surprising how much you can accomplish with the right frame of mind.

To achieve this frame of mind, requires that you put the work in. At the very minimum, you should have written a million words to reach your first goal. In addition spending an hour doing nothing but meditation each day is only a starting point. Maybe you should spend two hours a day in meditation?

Boredom: The Plague

Boredom: A brief on it’s dangers

There is a problem with today’s modern society. While there are many problems with today’s society, specifically one that is dangerous is boredom.

Boredom is defined as an emotional and sometimes psychological state. Many of the problems in life, may stem from boredom. It has been linked to alcoholism, and drug abuse.

When people feel like life has become a living death, when boredom with the norm is so tedious that life just doesn’t make sense like it is.

Sometimes a persons environment is considered to be dull. When it seems like there isn’t any fun, or reason to exert one’s will.

Sometimes boredom is necessary. It can be used to be more creative and to inspire new work. From boredom comes new flavors and breaths new life into creative work.

New Flavors

So sometimes it’s necessary to achieve new heights. Without it, we wouldn’t know when we are tired of what is popular. The whole reason for something being popular is because it’s not boring like our current situation.

Because it has a level of excitement to it. Then when what is current becomes stale, new work replaces the old stuff. And sometimes that is enough to maintain a fresh perspective.

Really getting a fresh perspective is sometimes really important. It helps us to appreciate what we have. The danger lies when things become dull, your wits get dull, your mind gets soft and lazy. Then you spiral down in boredom, looking for a quick fix.

The only way out is to be really creative. You have to push the boundaries. Life can get the better of you if you don’t watch it. Sometimes you have to do what makes you feel alive. Life can be pretty boring. Change is of course inevitable.

Pixelated Decaf

Pretty soon everything looks like the same pixelated bits, on tv, on the big screen, heck even Netflix.

There is something to be said for having a peaceful life. It can however turn into oppressive situation if not kept in check. Sometimes you just want to dance, or play.

When boredom turns oppressive, then there is a problem. We have to make life better for everyone. This means that some people have to change their comfort levels, and adapt.

When you get too comfortable, and set in ways of being boring, first check and make sure you are not causing someone else harm. Because what one person considers heaven could be someone else’s hell.

New Balance

There has to be balance in life. Variety is the spice of life. It helps when you have some variety in your day to day living. You know, eat the same sandwich for too many years and it doesn’t taste as good anymore.

It’s important to break the habits that cause boredom in the first place, otherwise you are just living like a zombie. And that isn’t any fun. You have to get out of your routine.

Life is. Things are. Deal with it.
